Lab 1: Make sense of the orders
A week of shop orders sits in a Python list. Count them, loop over them, filter them, and total them, one small step at a time.
Do this lab after reading the lesson up to “Lab 1: practise on orders data”. Every task uses something from that part of the lesson.
Your first week on the data team, and someone wants quick answers about last week’s orders: how many came in, who bought, which were big, and where they came from. The orders are a plain Python list of dicts, the same shape you get from a JSON API or a CSV file.
Every task is one small step. Stuck? Press Cheatsheet under a task to see the syntax on different data, copy the
pattern, swap in orders and its fields, and press Run. Add each answer below the previous one: the whole
main.py runs every time, and tasks tick themselves when the result is right.
When every task is ticked, mark the lab complete and go back to the lesson tab for the next part: files, CSV and JSON.
